On September 2, CCTV News provided live streaming of interviewing Confucius Institute at Burapha University, established in collaboration with Wenzhou University and Wenzhou Medical College.

During the interview, CCTV News gave a comprehensive coverage about how Confucius Institute promoted Chinese language and Chinese medicine in local communities and about the reasons behind popularity of Chinese language in local communities.

Zhang Yulin, president of Confucius Institute, said that the past eight years witnessed great achievements by Confucius Institute in students’ training programs and cultural events. In 2016, the number of students who attended to Confucius Institute exceeded 10,000. Among all Confucius Institutes, Burapha University’s Confucius Institute takes lead in many indexes. In the future, this Confucius Institute will try its utmost to improve its training quality in Chinese language and Chinese medical exchanges in a way that students, schools and enterprises from Thailand and China can benefit more.

Actually, as an increasing number of Chinese enterprises joined in the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi, there emerges a great need for Chinese language. Those local candidates with Chinese language ability become the sought-after among Chinese enterprise which invested heavily in those countries. Confucius Institutes, like the one at Burapha University, are becoming more popular among students across the world.
